Designing an engagement ring should feel exciting, not overwhelming. At Lorne, we believe that creating something this meaningful should come with guidance, calm, and a little bit of magic. Whether you have a crystal-clear vision or no idea where to start, we’re here to make the process feel personal and reassuring from beginning to end.
You're Not Alone in This
We know the questions that keep you up at night: • What if she doesn’t like it? • How do I even begin to choose the right style? • Will it sit well with a wedding band? • What happens if I get the size wrong?
These are all valid concerns, and we’re here to walk you through every one of them.
What Makes Working With Us Different?
At Lorne, we don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach. Every couple, every story, every ring is different, and your design journey should reflect that. Our role is to understand the person you love, the story you share, and the small details that will make her ring feel just right.
We begin with a relaxed consultation (either in person or online) where we get to know what matters to you: her style, your ideas, and your budget. From there, we offer thoughtful direction and bring design options to life through sketches, renders, and optional 3D resin models.
Seeing the Ring Before It’s Made
We know it can be hard to picture what the final piece will actually look like. That’s why we offer CAD drawings and 3D printed resin models for many of our bespoke rings. You can hold the design in your hand and check: • Does the setting height feel right? • Is the width balanced? • Would a slight tweak make it even better?
This gives you the freedom to make adjustments with clarity, long before we begin crafting in precious metal.
Navigating Uncertainty With Confidence
Most clients don’t arrive knowing ring sizes, diamond specs or how many claws a setting should have. You’re not expected to. That’s why we’re here. We can help you: • Estimate her ring size subtly • Choose between natural, lab or moissanite stones • Understand the difference between claw, bezel, or flush settings • Pick metals that suit both lifestyle and tone preferences
And most importantly: we’ll make sure the final ring reflects her.
Our Design Philosophy
Your ring won’t be pulled from a catalogue. Every detail is considered, whether it’s a subtle taper on the band or an asymmetrical arrangement of stones. If she wears both yellow and white gold, we can design around that. If she’s practical, we’ll recommend lower settings. If she loves bold silhouettes, we’ll suggest profiles that make a statement.
We design with intention, not trends. The goal? To create a ring that will look and feel timeless, for her.
Custom Doesn't Mean Complicated
Designing a custom engagement ring doesn’t need to be complicated. Here’s what the journey with us might look like:
-
Consultation: You tell us about her style, your ideas, and budget.
-
Concept: We present design directions through sketches or renders.
-
Refinement: Optional 3D model to review scale and detail.
-
Final Design: Once approved, the ring is cast, set, and finished.
-
Presentation: We deliver the finished ring in a Lorne box ready for that big moment.
A Few Common Questions We Hear
What if she wants to be involved in the design?
We love that too. Some couples choose to co-design the ring after the proposal, using a placeholder or simpler band for the proposal itself.
What if I’m on a budget?
We work with a wide range of budgets and can guide you toward choices that feel meaningful without compromising on quality.
Can the design be changed later?
Most design features are final once we start casting, but we always discuss the timeline and milestones clearly upfront so you feel confident at each step.
A Ring Worth Waiting For
This isn’t about creating a generic ring. It’s about designing a piece that says: I see you, I know you, and I want to spend forever with you.
If you're feeling nervous, that’s okay. If you’re excited, we are too. Get in touch to start the conversation. No pressure, no rush. Just a chance to explore what’s possible.
