Lorne [pronounced “Lorn”] is a fine and semi-fine jewellery label designed by Gillian Lawrence and handcrafted in Cape Town, South Africa.

Founded in the late twenty-teens, Lorne began as a creative outlet focused on bold, sculptural pieces for editorial collaborations. In the years since, it has matured into a jewellery studio that balances design precision with wearability, offering pieces that are elegant, expressive, and thoughtfully made.

At the heart of Lorne is Gillian, a qualified jewellery designer with a BTech in Fine Jewellery Design and Manufacturing. This is her first solo venture, built with care and a deep personal connection to both the craft and the community it serves.

Every Lorne piece is made locally by experienced goldsmiths and bench jewellers using a mix of traditional and modern techniques such as hand fabrication, casting, and custom work. We work with solid gold, platinum, sterling silver, and gold-plated silver, and use natural diamonds, lab-grown diamonds, and moissanite, all clearly marked and certified where applicable. We also partner with local refineries that specialise in recycled gold and offer trade-in options to clients seeking more sustainable choices.
